Blue Water River Walk trail to be done by 2013

St. Clair, Michigan — The Community Foundation of St. Clair County is just $50,000 short of its $200,000 goal to finish building the Blue Water River Walk Trail. If the money is raised, which the Community Foundation says they have until December 2012 to do so, they will have the trail completed by 2013.

The $200,000 goal needs to be reached in order to qualify for a matching grant through the Transportation Enrichment Grant Program of the Michigan Department of Transportation.

The Blue Water River Walk will feature 4,300 feet of shoreline from Vantage Point and will go south to the Seaway Terminal on land Acheson Ventures donated to the foundation. The project will also restore shoreline and land near the river and build a walkway, which would connect to the Bridge-to-Bay trail.
