Santa comes back to the annual Eastside Holiday Festival

DETROIT — Residents in the East Jefferson corridor are getting some love again this holiday season with the annual Eastside Holiday Village festival.

The Holiday Village is for all ages and will be brimming with fun including face painting, magicians, a float from the Parade Company, craft workshops and Santa himself.

"We are so glad to be able to work with the Parade Company. You should see the kid's faces when they see that huge Thanksgiving Day Parade float - they literally light up," said sponsor and JEBA Board Member Mike Curis in a press release. "To be honest, that's really the best part - to see the little ones. They make it worth all the hard work."

The outdoor holiday gathering is part of the Jefferson East Business Association's (JEBA) effort to create and sustain economic development on the city's lower east side. It also shows off the Jefferson-Chalmers waterfront community and will be located at Riverbend Plaza near Dickerson Rd. on Jefferson Ave.

Cornelius Golightly Career and Technical Center will provide food throughout the day, courtesy of their culinary arts program.

JEBA invites the public and more than 2,500 families in the community to the free event this Sat., Dec. 8 from 2-5pm.

Before you go, grab a coffee and pastry from the pop-up cafe Coffee and (__) in the West Village!
